That's the message from Dive Show director Nigel Eaton, who points out that divers will find a number of themed areas at the event, which takes place at ExCeL on March 26/27, to help compare and contrast the diving experiences in different parts of the world.
"Divers can visit the new Asia-Pacific showcase to get a flavour of diving in this vast and increasingly popular region; drop in to the Caribbean Village to discover the latest fascinating underwater offerings – from Cuba to the Cayman Islands; and head for the British Isles Experience to find out more about wreck and reef diving opportunities in home waters.
"With value for money in mind, those wanting to get the latest information about British divers' favourite overseas location can visit the Red Sea Zone at LIDS to meet CDWS and the Egyptian Tourist Authority. Local experts will be able to tell you exactly what's on offer in the coming months.
"And the PADI Village is, of course, a great place to meet knowledgeable staff from dive centres all over the world – including dive guides and instructors you may have met or dived with on previous trips."
Other attractions at LIDS 2011, the 10th anniversary Dive Show at ExCeL, include a free programme of presentations by world-class diving speakers and a free underwater photo course.
In addition to the dedicated travel areas, in-hall features areas include a Try-Dive Pool, Rebreather Pool, Dive Gear Showcase, gallery of top underwater prints, and the new Free-dive Simulator and new PhotoZone.
There will also be the chance to win a free £6900 dive trip to Grenada and Carriacou in the show's main prize draw.
Advance tickets for LIDS 2011 cost £7.50 (or £6.50 if you buy six or more) if booked before midnight on Tuesday 22 March.
