For the past six years the company, situated off the Thames’ Victoria Embankment, has offered a dedicated underwater photographic sales and service showroom subcontracted to the specialist provider Cameras Underwater.
Now a new division, Ocean Leisure Cameras, is to take over from Cameras Underwater, while retaining the highly qualified London technical staff previously employed by the latter, whose main base is in Devon.
With the change has come the opportunity to broaden the store’s range of stills and video cameras and accessories including housings, lenses, filters, strobes and arms.
Some of those previously offered by Cameras Underwater will remain on sale, but they will be joined by other brands.
The result, says the company, will be “a fuller and more comprehensive” range of goods backed by “some of the best-known and most capable staff in the world of underwater photography”.
Ocean Leisure Cameras will start trading on 18 July, while other diving services are also to be stepped up.
A new offering of Sunday afternoon technical workshops, for both underwater and post-production skills including stills and video editing, are to run from later this year.
In addition, the number of Red Sea diving photographic courses, run in conjunction with charters operator Blue O Two, is to be increased to meet demand.
