Diving & Wildlife Travel Consultant needed

We are seeking a Diving & Wildlife Travel Consultant to join our team based in Charlestown, Cornwall.

Aqua-Firma is looking for a Wilderness and Wildlife Travel Consultant to join us in our offices in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Charlestown in Cornwall. Previous travel experience to relevant countries is essential, including places such as Central or South America, East Africa, Indonesia. You will also need to have a keen interest in responsible travel, wilderness and natural history. Experience in other activities such as sailing, canoeing and conservation will be of great advantage.

The personal qualities we need are enthusiasm, the ability to work at a fast rate and multi-task, excellent written and organisational skills and an eye for detail. Experience with Word and email management is important, as is good telephone, written and face to face communication skills. Prior knowledge of the travel industry is not essential.

Aqua-Firma is a company driven by a long developed passion for exploring and conserving the best of our planet's wilderness and wildlife - in particular where land and water meet. The areas surrounding the great oceans, rivers, lakes and icecaps can provide some of the most dramatic encounters with wildlife and the natural world.

Our experiences have been created with the input of marine and environmental scientists, professional sailors and divers, conservationists and leading naturalist guides; people who have a passion to communicate the environments they know best. The result is the opportunity to experience wilderness locations in ways which are invigorating, enlightening and responsible.

Location: Our offices overlook one of the most inspirational maritime sites in Britain. Charlestown harbour is a World Heritage Site kept in near impeccable Cornish style with stunning beaches either side of the harbour and dramatic cliff coastlines in the direction of Mevagissey and Fowey in view across St Austell Bay.

Whilst the harbour itself often plays stage to period dramas, the ships are regularly employed to feature in films and series such as Longitude.

10 minutes to the east is the sailing and walking Mecca of Fowey, which was also once rated by Ray Mears as the best place in Britain to go canoeing. Good diving can be found to the east and west, surfing to the north and great walks can be found throughout the county including the Coastal Path which runs a few yards from the office.

Of towns, the amenities of St Austell are nearby, Truro lies 25 minutes to the west, Plymouth is about an hour away and Newquay is 1/2 hour away on the opposite coast. The Eden Project is a mere 3 miles away which itself lies at the western edge to some of the best inland countryside in mid-Cornwall.
