This short film, competently assembled by a young couple who devote all their holidays to shark-diving, is generously designed to benefit the Shark Trust and the Shark Conservation Society (which now stocks the DVD). These organisations receive all the proceeds.
For £4.99 you get some nice footage from South Africa, the Bahamas and Guadaloupe of bull, hammerhead, ocean whitetip, tiger and other sharks; great whites filmed from a cage; and Caribbean reef sharks being fed, massaged into a state of tonic immobility and even being kissed by mail-clad feeders.
"We wanted to show anyone who might be nervous about sharks how enjoyable and non-threatening their close presence could be," the Aslans told me. "Also, to show anyone who might be interested in diving with sharks the type of experiences available."
Interspersing the action, in silent-movie style, are placard messages about the threat to sharks, and the music, by the Stones and Doors among others, is thoughtfully chosen. It's a good cause, and a pleasant way to pass 20 minutes.
