This is a well-intentioned film about whale sharks in the Bay Islands off Honduras, in particular one called Big Tom. According to the film-makers, the local fishermen dont draw the line at catching anything much - but they do make an exception of Big Tom.
This is because they believe he brings the blackfin tuna with him, but then, they couldnt handle anything as big as Tom anyway.
There are a lot of good middle-distance shots of this and other whale sharks, and a great many talking heads underlining how little we know about these creatures, and what is being done to find out more.
But while its all neatly put together, Im afraid this DVD does drag its feet. The proceeds from sales go towards costly acoustic tags, so its a good cause, but youre unlikely to want to watch the film more than once.
