DIVER Awards 2012

THEY ARE NAMES that have become synonymous with world-class diving – Beqa Lagoon on the island of Viti Levu, where some of the planet’s most exciting shark-dives takes place; Rainbow Reefs and the Great White Wall at Taveuni in the Somosomo Strait, with their luxuriant coral reefs; the Great Astrolabe Barrier Reef off Kadavu, famed for manta rays.
These locations all form part of an outstanding diving destination in the South Pacific – Fiji. And one fortunate reader who fills in nominations for the DIVER Awards 2012 will be travelling there with a chosen companion on an exciting eight-night trip that will take in all these sites and more.
This diving holiday, valued at more than £7000, has been put together by UK tour operator Original Diving in association with Tourism Fiji and the three island resorts. If your name is drawn at random, you and your buddy will fly from London to Fiji via LA or Hong Kong. International and domestic flights and transfers are all included.
hspace=5 You’ll spend the first two nights at Beqa Lagoon, staying at Uprising Beach Resort in a garden-view bure (as they call the traditional Fijian straw building).
You’ll dive with Aqua Trek, and the famous multi-species “Ultimate Shark Encounter” offers at least two dives each that you’ll never forget.
You’ll move on to Taveuni Island Resort for the next four nights in a luxury garden villa, with the chance to enjoy diving on coral reefs of exceptional beauty, with four dives each included in the prize.
And the final two nights will see you on the island of Kadavu at Matava in an ocean-view bure, with a full day’s diving included.
All three resorts will provide breakfast and dinner as part of the package, and all taxes and charges are covered too.
