Lift, Toilet, compressors and loads of space for great trip away exploring the southern North Sea. Depth is 30-35m even 40 miles offshore
Hi To all,
This season we're running an individuals expedition to Nieuwpoort in Belgium and as well as diving some of the know great wrecks in the area we're also planning to look for a couple of uncharted wrecks.
The trip is from THURSDAY 29th JULY to TUESDAY 3rd AUGUST
The trip is £390 per person for the 6 days excluding travel to Nieuwpoort and accommodation.
Nieuwpoort is only a 45min drive from Calais so plenty of choice for the channel crossing and usually very good deals for those who book in advance.
We can put you in touch with Hotels and B+B's etc in Nieuwpoort and again there is a large choice though booking early is advisable and for small groups often more cost effective.
As usual we will be moored close to the old town (Nieuwpoort Stad) quay a few 100 yards from the nearest B+B and near loads of restaurants, bars etc and on the tram line (approx 10 Euros for a 3 day pass) for the new seaside town (Nieuwpoort Bad)
Our plan for the diving is:
Thur 29th - Bruno Hieneman (30-37m) a WW2 German Destroyer involved in the infamous 'Channel Dash' (30-37m) loading from 10:30-11:00am CET so its possible to take an early ferry/tunnel on the day
Fri 30th - Pepinella an upright steamship (30m) leave again approx 11am
Sat 31st - 2 wreck dive day, 1st dive the Suguards Falbaums (30m) followed by the UNCHARTED WW1 German destroyer S77 (30m)with time to bail out to another wreck if she's not found - leave time 7am
Sun 1st August - 2 wreck dive day, 1st dive on the Polfield (30m) a 3000 ton cargo ship and then we'll look for an Unknown in 30m as the 2nd dive - leave time 7am
Mon 2nd August - 2 wreck dive day, The Garden City (30m) well offshore followed by the Triffles a huge WW2 German support ship (12-35m)- leave time 7am
Tue 3rd August - John Mahn (35m) though if the weather is great we could try for the WW1 Dutch liner Tubantia (30m) some 42 miles offshore - return to Nieuwpoort by approx 5-6pm CET; hour or so later if we had conditions to do Tubantia
In all we aim to do 9 wreck dives over the trip and also have some time to enjoy the hospitality of Nieuwpoort
For more details please give me a call or e-mail.
We also believe there's an article in DIVER Magazine on Belgium due for publication in March
